Witkin Design Group to Design Exterior Environment for Condo Conversion of Former Historical Miami Beach Hotel. Project Includes New 19-story Tower.

Witkin Design Group, a North Miami Beach landscape architecture firm, has been retained by developers Christa/Bluerock, in a joint venture with veteran builder and developer Christa Development Corp. (CDC) and esteemed investment firm Bluerock Real Estate, both out of New York, to design recreational amenities, landscaping, hardscapes and exterior lighting for the condo-conversion of the historic Miami Beach Caribbean Hotel and the addition of a 19-story residential tower.

Christa Construction, Inc., will convert the 8-story hotel property, built in 1941, into 35 luxurious condominium residences. The new tower will offer another 68 elite residences. The Caribbean is located at 3737 Collins Avenue.

Witkin Design Group’s preliminary design plans call for an at-grade, ocean- view recreation package in a formal, geometric style with a series of multi-level decks, each accommodating a different use: a pool & spa deck, a conversation deck with fire pit, a courtyard deck with a major fountain, a cabana deck and a dune deck overlooking the boardwalk and including a wading pool.

Architectural design for the project will be by Architect Kobi Karp and Interior Designer Christopher Ciccone.

At Witkin Design Group, Juan R. Pacheco is Project Manager for the development.

A mid-winter groundbreaking is anticipated, with completion anticipated in winter, 2007.
